Half way there and counting

Today was my 20 week visit to the doctor. We are officially half way there! At my last visit, the ultrasound tech needed to get a few more photos of the baby's heart, so she scheduled me for another ultrasound at the next appointment. Luckily, the ultrasound was again uneventful (in the sense that everything looked great). I had a different tech this time and after she was done gathering the images that she needed, I asked if we could take a peek at the gender again. She obliged and confirmed our first ultrasound was correct! I feel justified in buying pink now that I have a second opinion. Whew! I also got some better images of her girly parts (or her three lines) for the baby book.

Jack returned to preschool this week and seems to really like his new teacher - Miss Denise. His first day back went mostly well, except that he had two (poop) accidents in his underwear. We had our obligatory speech with him and "encouraged" him with the promise of watching a movie if he pooped on the potty at school today. Well, apparently that worked and needless to say, Jack watched The Little Mermaid tonight. The Little Mermaid seems to be his new favorite movie. I'm not sure how I feel about it though. It's a little risque (Ariel is pretty busty and when she turns into a human, she is totally naked on the beach) and definitely has its scary parts. Hoping he'll move on to something else soon.

Jack's vocabulary, annunciation and grammar have always seemed pretty advanced for his age. So I decided that I needed to record some of our favorite flubs that come out of his mouth. Some of these have already come and gone and some still amuse Ben and I daily:

ellabody = everybody ("Bye ellabody")
what you ever say = whatever you say
comotron = remote control
can I hold you = can you hold me
Little Ensteims = Little Einsteins
s'getti or ps'getti = spaghetti
Lightin'-Na-Queen = Lighting McQueen
Nikki Noodles = Yankee Doodle
I know know = I don't know
Dooditdagain = Do it again
Wainaminit = Wait a minute
Cubease = Because (thanks Unell for helping me remember this one)
Halloweena = Halloween (this is a new one...he keeps asking if it is Halloweena yet)
I ready all did = I already did

As I said, there aren't that many, but if I come across any more, I'll add them to the list.

Here are some recent belly shots. They aren't great 'cause I took 'em with our photo booth on the labtop, but it was pretty cute that Jack wanted in on the action. The last one, in case you can't tell, he is kissing my belly. He really is going to make a great big bro! Incidentally, Jack didn't vote for any name on our baby naming poll. He just calls the baby, Carson. Cute for a little girl, but don't think my friend Ali would be too amused, as they just named their little boy, Carson. Truth-be-told, I think that is where Jack got it from.
