Holiday Wrap-Up

So I've been terribly neglectful to my blog. I do have a wonderful excuse. I have been sucked into the time warp called having a newborn. How is it that something as small as 7-8 pounds can consume so much time? As I sit here typing, I am astounded that it is already 3:30 in the afternoon and I feel like I just woke up.

Paige turned 3 weeks on Saturday and is doing great. Despite the fact that she is having some issues gaining weight and the doctor has had us start her on formula supplements to get her weight up, she is actually a pretty easy baby. She sleeps beautifully, typically going down about 10:30-11 pm and I tend to wake her between 3 and 4 a.m. for a feeding. Her next feeding comes anytime between 6 and 9 a.m. We go in for a weight check on Tuesday and hopefully they will be satisfied with her current weight gain. Although she is still such a peanut, it does seem like she is getting a little more fat on her body. Here are some photos that I took of the sleeping angel.

The holidays were a whirlwind and again I'm in disbelief that it is already mid-January. We had a great holiday with our 3-year-old and our most special gift, Paige. Here are a few photos of the fun. Jack especially enjoyed Christmas and loved everything he got. His reaction to every gift is always excited and incredibly priceless.

Things are now settling down here in the Grooters household and we are looking forward to getting into a routine again around here. We are catching up on things that have been neglected, such as haircuts. This weekend I cut my bangs, Ben's hair and Jack's hair. I've cut Jack's several times before because no one would ever cut his hair the way that I wanted it. However, this is the first time I've cut Ben's. He was really wary about letting me cut it for him, but I think I did a pretty good job. Here's the product of my work. I think I have a new calling, don't you?

Okay, so maybe a little training would help. Still not bad for an amateur.

  2. You look too rested for having a 3 week old. I think that there is some hair cutting going on in one of our favorite blogs, as well!! Paige looks like she has already changed since the las time I saw her. What a sweet little angel!!!

  3. Thanks ladies. Get this Ali, the reason I cut the bangs is because earlier that day I was in a photo shoot for an all woman fundraiser that we have for the ballet called Sisterhood of the Costume Closet and this year's theme is Sisters in the City. So four of us dressed up like the women from Sex and the City. 3 weeks post-partum...what was I thinking. So I had a spray tan and tons of make-up on when I took this photo of the bangs. Explains why I look so "rested". Too funny about Darby's blog. I didn't even realize that she had recently blogged about hair cutting.
