Here comes Peter Cottontail...

Hoppin' down the bunny trail. Pete has come and gone, and here's a look at how we celebrated.

Yesterday after the dairy farm, I proceeded to prepare for Easter day. I started by baking bread. I saw this Italian Easter bread being made on The Cake Boss and thought it was a cute idea. I found the recipe here. It looked simple enough and had good comments. I prepared according to directions, except instead of making 6 small breads, I just halved the dough to twist and put all of the eggs in the center. I've seen several where the eggs are placed around the braid. But thought that may turn people off that aren't used to eating this bread. I think it was a hit at the brunch I attended. It had a delicious slightly sweet, yeast roll flavor. The dyed eggs and sprinkles added a fun and festive touch.

My second project required a little helper and a big lesson. They are Easter Resurrection Cookies. I got the idea from Darby, here. Who I've met once when we looked at their house they were selling here in Tallahassee, but other than that all that I know about her is from her blog. It's safe to say that I'm an official blog stalker and Darby wanna-be.

The project was great for an at-home lesson, preschool or Sunday school project. It was a perfect way to illustrate to Jack about the story of Easter, which he was familiar with from Little Lambs. The final product was pretty tasty, too and reminded me a lot of my mom's divinity that she makes at Christmas. We sealed the tomb on the cookies and went to bed. Then...

Peter came and left these at our house while we were sleeping.

Found these cute utensils called Dinnersaurs at a local store, Loli and the Bean.

It amazes me that we can still find dinosaur things that we don't already own. And that Jack still likes dinos to this day. Here's a better look at the forkceratops and spoonasaurus.

This cute little gift was in Paige's Easter basket. It's a lovey and a paci in one...pacimals. You can find one here.

Jack watching one of his Easter basket goodies, A Toy Story...he wouldn't look at me.

We were invited for brunch at Nancy and Blaine's who had quite a spread of goodies.

And I would be remiss if I didn't include tons more pics of my little Easter blessings. By the way, Nana crocheted the little dress and the diaper covers were a gift from my Auntie Jan when Paige was born.

Hope you, too, had a blessed and fun-filled Easter!
