I cried when the x-ray tech told me I was having you – a little girl. I wanted to believe her, but my heart wouldn't let me for fear that she might have been mistaken. I made another x-ray tech and the doctor both confirm it just to be sure before I would dare buy anything pink.
And here we are 3 years later. Still so hard to believe that three years has flown by. That in 6 months you will be the same age that Jack was when you were born. It's gone by so fast and seems all a blur. At least I have photos and blogs to document the warp speed. I've enjoyed revisiting these photos from the last few years.
Eagerly awaiting your arrival
The day you were born, December 19, 2009
Your big brother meeting you for the first time
Our best Christmas present ever
Sleeping like an angel and in awe of your tiny little features
Jack couldn't wait until you were big enough to play with him
Your daddy was always the best at getting you to sleep
Your brother has adored you from the moment he laid eyes on you
Those first toothless grins
Celebrating holidays with you
Your Christening Day
Your sweet chubby cheeks
Achieving developmental milestones like rolling over, crawling and walking
Your first solid foods
And making awful messes with your meal
Leaving infancy and beginning toddlerhood
Your first birthday
Playing dress up in Mommy's closet
Potty training
Finding Easter eggs for the first time
Watching fireworks
Enjoying summertime fun like boat rides and seeing the country from your backpack carrier
Your first wedding
Playing ballerina from very early on
Bathtimes with brother
Turning into a little girl
Trick or treating for the first time
Delivering Thanksgiving goodies to your class
Pajama Day at school
Your second birthday
Always wanting to be like your brother
Sweet faces
And playing in the sand with friends
Your first ballet recital
Vacations with family
And here we are today, looking like such a big girl and already celebrating 3 years old!
I wish I could get back those fleeting moments, but I do so look forward to watching you grow and seeing your personality develop. You already seem so mature for your age, so I can only imagine what you will be like when you start elementary school, middle school and high school.
At 3, you are all about...
1. All things Princess {particularly Cinderella}
2. Dolls
3. Twirly dresses
4. Ballet class
5. Pre-school {namely your teacher Miss Kimberly and your best friends Mia and Anthony}
6. Reading books {Gigi God's Little Princess is your favorite}
7. Pop music {Taylor Swift and Carly Rae Jepsen top your charts}
8. Dancing
9. Your big brother
10. And playing dress up
Yep, you are all girl and for that we love you. We are truly blessed to have you as our little princess.
Happy Birthday Baby Girl!
