It is still hard for Ben and I to imagine our little girl. We find ourselves wondering will it be so different from having a boy? Will SHE be a wild toddler tumbling off of furniture and jumping down flights of stairs? Or will she be playing quietly with baby dolls and dress up? Will she like dinosaurs and movies or Barbies and ballets?
In the meantime, while we anxiously await our pink bundle of joy, we are whipping out The Baby Name Wizard (a pretty cool book if you haven't seen it) and jotting down names we like and crossing off names we don't agree on. A few names that have been vetoed by one or the other are Anna, Quinn, Lena and Charlotte. Still we have a laundry list of names that we do like to sort through as we pine for that most perfect name that no one else has used and has no preconceived associations with it in our minds eye. I have at least 5 first- and middle-name combos that we can mostly agree upon. My plan was to publish a BabyCenter.com poll on the blog so you (our loyal readers) can go and vote on, but Ben wouldn't allow me to. He's never any fun. However, if you are one of those that is really curious to know, send me an email and I'll email you the poll. Shhh...it's our secret (as I know he will never read this blog).
The other dilemma that I am now faced with is how to decorate the room. In case you haven't heard, our plan is to put both Jack and the baby in the same room. This, of course, will be trial and error at first to see if the baby will wake Jack or vice-versa. We plan to keep the baby in our room at least for a little while (thanks Aunt Nancy for the use of your beautiful cradle). However, the actual crib, closet and changing station will be located in the same room. This presents a bit of a problem as now I have to coordinate a nursery for a baby girl and our toddler boy. If you have any good suggestions or see anything cute, please feel free to send them my way. Check back to see what my final solution is, as I will surely post photos of my ideas and the finished product once I figure it all out. Anyways, am tired and ready to head off to bed. Signing off for now, but keep checking back often for more news and updates!
P.S. Just found the Baby Name Wizards have a website too...check it out if you like and help us find a name for our little one! http://www.babynamewizard.com/
