These are a few of my favorite things...

Final preparations on the nursery, baby showers, weekly doctor visits, Christmas commercials ... all of these are signs that we are winding down the pregnancy and getting closer to the day that we meet the newest addition to the Grooters Family. If you are my Facebook friend you've seen my status updates about the numerous showers Ben and I have had in the past few weeks. We have received so many precious baby girl things and necessities, it's too numerous to mention them all, but here are a few of the items on the list:

The Madison Changing Station from Pottery Barn Kids was a huge surprise from Ben's mom, Nana Ann.

The beautifully crafted, french cleat, valance and draperies that my dad built and mom sewed...can't wait until all of them are done and hung.

The precious crib bedding (sewed with love by my mom, Nana) and the perfectly matching storage ottoman from Target from Nancy, Linley and Ali will make a great place to prop my feet.

The Beaba Babycook from Williams-Sonoma will make creating homemade, nutritionally superior, baby foods easy from Papa Roger and Grandma Vicki. Nothing's too good for our little girl!

The closet full of adorable outfits, courtesy of many people, that have inundated our once boy-only closet.

A cocoon (as my mom called it) and knit sunflower hat crocheted by, who else, Nana.

A Big Brother Jack shirt and Baby Sister onesie handmade by Boo will make a perfect first meeting outfit for the two new siblings.

A "Stitched by Janay" embroidered special (courtesy one of my coworker's wife) will make a great first outing outfit for the two sibs.

The chic and sleek Skip Hop diaper bag from Nancy, Ali and Linley to keep this momma organized and stylish.

One of the many ballerina outfits, this precious ensemble is from Grand Aunt Unell.

A mini Dr. Grooters scrub set looks perfect in pink from Papa Roger and Grandma Vicki.

Another crocheted special of Nana's will look and fit perfectly in the hospital.

This adorable little frock is another handmade by Boo special.

And again, this hand-stitched, car seat cover by Boo turns what was once boyish into a carriage perfect for our little princess.

It's in the bag...my coworkers passed around this gift bag to leave words of advice to the future big brother, Jack, and inside was none other than a dino t-shirt that he loved (you see he wore it to school today)!

And here's the momma, 5 weeks from the due date. Grown, haven't I?

I went to my doctor's appointment today. Weight, 22 lbs., check. Blood pressure, perfect, check. Iron, 13.8, check. Urine, looks good, check. Belly, 34.5 cm, check. Baby's heartbeat, 178 bpm, check. Everything went well. I scheduled 5 more weekly appointments from now until the end of December...let's hope I don't have to go that many times, though. On Thanksgiving, I'll be 9 months. If I were pregnant again with Jack, that would mean that I would be having the baby two weeks after that. That's kind of hard to believe. However, I don't have any feeling that I'll be going that early with this one, nor do I want to get my hopes up about it. Still, my goal is to be prepared for anything after Thanksgiving weekend. I still have lots to do though, ugh!

  4. Everything looks amazing -- you look very prepared to receive your new bundle of joy!

Love the scrubs -- what a cute idea! I toyed around with some dentist-themed designs, but nothing was working for me. Decided girly monogram was better. :)

Praying the next few weeks go smoothly and your little girl arrives at just the right time.

  6. Wow! The nursery and you look absolutely beautiful. You've only gained 22 lbs? I think at the same stage, I was around 35..ha! I had a big sweet tooth though. So glad you and the baby are doing well. Your family and Boo do wonderful work! The next baby we have, I will need their number :) Let's get together again before December and you are crazy busy.
    Love you lots, Melissa

  8. So cute Shannon, Love all the pink. Makes me miss having a little baby girl. Although we have kept up with all the pink in our house. Helps balance things out. Enjoy 5 more weeks with 2 on 1 defense. Lisa
