My Facebook friends may think I did actually do this to him, especially if you saw my recent post about exorcising the demons out of him. You see, Jack hasn't been the epitome of an angel child recently. I'm not sure if it is starting to sink in that he's not a baby anymore or the impending doom of adding another child. But, bedtime has been a struggle as of late and was getting worse. This had made for a much grumpier little boy and thus more defiant and "not making good choices" at school. We've been slowly working on getting better. We've added a bedtime sticker chart and reward system, which has been quite effective for the past few nights. Hopefully a few more nights and we'll have bedtime whipped. Just in time so we can rest up before the newborn comes and keeps us up again.

Growing pains
Jack got his first shiner along with a nice busted lip today at school. Apparently, he fell into a bench on the playground. It must have happened moments before I arrived, because he was still teary-eyed and was halfway done eating the typical "ouch" treat of Fla-vor-ice when I arrived to pick him up. The picture doesn't really do it justice, it's much worse in person. And I'm a little nervous as to whether it will look worse tomorrow. Now I will have to worry when I take him out in public, "do people realize that I didn't actually do this to my kid?"

Poor Jack! I am afraid that Chase is following in his footsteps. A very mean spirited child right now. Learns from his 8 year old bro. Tries to be tough...walking up to his brother's Lego creation and throwing it to the ground into little pieces. Laughs at his brother when he cries and laughs at me when I put him in a timeout. Is this a taste of how difficult his teenage years are going to be?
