And because it is so important to me to document each phase of the children's lives, I've put together a not-so-concise, top 10 things about you {Paige} at this very moment {some I had to combine because I really had more than 10}.
10) You love all things soft, fuzzy and squishy. You hug them, squeeze them, roll in them and carry them about.
9) You have eight teeth and love to flash your toothy smile {and you crinkle your nose when you are being silly}.
8) You can throw a mean temper-tantrum when you don't get your way {throwing yourself on your back and crying}. It still makes us smile, though. You hate having your diaper changed {hopefully that'll mean you potty train early}, and you throw your best fit if you have to get it done.
7) You love to be chased, especially when you know you are doing something you shouldn't {like unrolling toilet paper, or eating something you shouldn't, or climbing the stairs}.
6) You love to pull things out of cabinets or transfer objects out of bins and put them back in.
5) You love reading books. Eric Carle books and Pat the Bunny {your favorite part is playing peek-a-boo} are your favorites.
4) You are a pretty good eater. Your favorite foods are most any fruit {bananas, mandarin oranges, peaches, etc}, things with cheese {cheese puffs, Babybel cheese, macaroni and cheese, grilled cheese, etc}, PB&J, crackers, cookies. You aren't a big fan of vegetables, potatoes or rice {but how many kids are}.
3) You are big for your age...you weigh 23 pounds and are 31 inches tall. You are in the 90th percentile for height and weight. You wear 18-24 months clothes and size 4/5 shoes {I think that is actually pretty normal/small - Jack wore much bigger by now}.
2) You are already so grown up. You want to feed yourself, eat at the table with everyone else, you climb on furniture, you can open and close doors {lever handles}, turn on/off lights {we have low switches} and climb stairs. You already speak in sentences. It may not be the most clear annunciation, but between voice inflection and non-verbal cues I know that you've said, "What's that?", "Where's Daddy?" and "What are you doing?".
1) You have always been a champion sleeper {and I love that so much about you}. You take a 2-3 hours nap during the day and sleep from 8 p.m. - 7:30 a.m. at night. You won't sleep just anywhere and in any conditions, though. You like it really dark, with some sort of fan or white noise and lots of soft blankets. You get very grumpy when you don't get your sleep {so it should be interesting to see how you do sleeping at daycare one day a week}.
So there it is. I'm sure there are things I'm forgetting, but those are the biggest highlights. I can't wait to see how much you change and grow over the next year. I look forward to bows and dolls, tea parties and dress up in the years to come.

Okay. I don't buy that she throws temper tantrums...Those pics are all so beautiful! How are you going to choose? I love the ones of her laughing with a HUGE open mouth grin :) She is so cute!
ReplyDeleteThe beauty is, I don't have to choose...she's giving me all of them on a disk. Cha-ching!
