You are an active and extremely happy six-month-old girl. You have really taken off in your development. You started crawling a week or so before you turned six months. About a week ago you began pulling up {on everything}. You smile back at anyone that smiles at you. And you now have your first tooth, which makes your smile even more precious.
You love your dog, Marley. She can make you laugh when no one else can. You crawl over to the gate and pet her while she licks your face. You love it and so does she!
You babble all of the time in the sweetest of tones. You say, nananana, daddadada, bubububububa, but no mention of me.....mama.
You are eating second foods. You have your definite likes and dislikes – you make the funniest faces when you don't like a food. You *love* drinking water from a sippy cup! We started trying finger foods, like Gerber Puffs. You like to practice picking them up, but you make previous, said-face, when we try to put one in your mouth.
Achieving all of these new milestones has totally messed up your sleeping habits. Since you share your bedroom with your big brother, we tend to let the sleep training slide when you wake in the middle of the night. Instead of trying to console you back to sleep, we usually go get you and bring you in bed to nurse until you dose off again. I fear that you may never be a good sleeper again. I still nurse you to sleep every night, instead of allowing you to comfort yourself to sleep – this takes too much patience and time, neither of which we have very much of these days.
I took you to the doctor today for your six-month check-up. You weighed 19.10 pounds, that puts you in the 90th percentile. You were 75th percentile in height and 50th percentile in your head. Your beauty astounds us – everyone comments on your long eyelashes. I wonder how you will grow and change over the next three months, until your next check-up?
Sincerely,
Your Doting Mommy and Adoring Daddy
