Superhero For a Day {Jack's 4th Birthday}

***Bear With Me...It's a Long Post***
When asked what kind of birthday Jack wanted, he'd say, "Wolverine Birthday". It quickly became apparent that what we needed here was a compromise. Thus, I gave in and settled on a "Superhero Birthday". I took my inspiration from several party blogs and found these below.

When Jack saw the pictures and got really excited, I knew we hit the jackpot. With only three weeks until the big day, I had to hustle.

I had to find a location and after much searching and no other choices, I landed on Zoinks (an indoor inflatable house play center). If I had to do it again and had a little bit more lead time, I would book the Trousdell Gym. They have a gymnastics birthday party package that would have fit perfectly with the theme. Alas, they were closed due to a big a swim meet. That being said, Zoinks did a great job and provided much fun and enjoyment for all of the kids.

Finally, I had a location nailed down and went to order invites from Tiny Prints and would have to pay twice as much to have them here a week before the party. So instead, I commissioned a designer {and friend} in my office to copy the design. They turned out awesome and I was able to have them printed at a local print shop in minutes.

For Jack's actual birthday, he woke up that morning to a few new superhero tees {Old Navy} and Toy Story 2 {the movie} and some card games.

He was quite the happy boy that morning. We took cupcakes to school and he celebrated with all of the other 3 and 4 year-olds at school.

That night, myself, Ben, Papa and Grandma took him to see Toy Story 3 - 3D {the movie was amazing and despite my skepticism about seeing it in 3D, I would recommend that is the only way that you see it}. We finished up our movie and headed to Nana and Poppy's to eat a little dinner, cake and unwrap gifts. Among the wonderful dive mask, snorkel, fins, water guns and buggy things that he got, he could only think about opening the one gift that he was sure was a Buzz Lightyear toy. And it was...

Here is the montage from the birthday bash. It was 'super' fun!

Happy 4th Birthday, Jack. You are a 'super' terrific little boy!!
